Territory-aware combat: choose the battle territory from the dropdown; its terrain effects are applied automatically. “Auto-resolve” assumes neither side retreats or submits; use “Fight one round” when players want to make those decisions between rounds.

Rules implemented
One die per army, fort or burh. Normally a modified 5–6 kills. In normal terrain Roman and cavalry attackers kill on 4–6. A defending force in difficult terrain requires a modified 6 to kill. Roman and cavalry armies always require a 6 to kill. Selecting a leader automatically adds +1 to all friendly combat dice, with 6 remaining 6. Losses are simultaneous.
Mixed-force casualty handling
Against normal + cavalry armies, modified 5s kill normal armies and modified 6s are applied to cavalry first, then normal armies. Against Romans with a fort, Roman armies are eliminated no later than the fort. Saxon burhs may be chosen before normal armies in rounds 12–13; this prototype defaults to taking burhs first. From round 14 onward burhs must be taken first.
